How Do You Write Like You’re Running Out of Time?

4/19 & 4/21: This week was the final set of preliminary presentations, followed by a work day to finish up final projects on Thursday

In this last reflection log, I want to discuss how flawed Duene’s How to Walk in New York was when applied to this class. Almost every single rule he laid out in his article, I ended up breaking, sometimes more than once.

For example, each day I would text, smile, be injured (it’s really hard not to when your feet feel like they’re about to fall off), break stride, and hum what was in my headphones. Just in the first stanza, I broke each guideline that the author laid out. I was absolutely petrified heading into the big city on the first day, because I just wanted to know that everything was going to be OK.
