I apologize in advance if you were hoping to make sense of this.
so, here’s my grand plan for everything! I didn’t realize that these were to be shared, so this probably isn’t legible to anyone but me. Still, I promise that everything is Fine and Under Control. Basically, I’m making a one minute movie about ants and rocks. The two themes to keep in mind for this were “strong” and “cyclical” and that brought to mind piles of rocks- you know those really nicely balanced ones people make in the woods? those. The ants ended up in this because I think they fit in nicely, and because I like ants. I’ll probably animate the ants in Flash and overlay them on top of camera footage of the rock piles. Although, stop motion is also an option? That sounds like more work than Flash but less work than training ants.
Tell me a bit about the story here. When thinking of strong, are the rocks just strong? What do you think conveys the word ‘strong’
I mean training ants sounds like you could potentially make a lot of money. Or ruin a bunch of picnics at least. I like the idea of ants and rocks! I do think they fit together well. How much time do you estimate the animation portion taking? Do you have an idea of the title? Or is the title “goblins shoveling rocks into their mouths”? Honestly I think that’s a great title for something in general, if not this project. Also I think you might wanna think a little more deeply about the audio. It seems pretty topical right now, but that might work well iff the graphics are complex… Either way, good start!
I like your idea. Are the rocks going to be animated, either with stop-motion or Flash, or will you just cut to them being in different formations?
What is the transformation? What are your words?
Sounds cute. Whats your sound going to be? Is the idea of strong the ant’s picking up and moving the rocks?
Will you have enough time to animate all this, like I’m not sure totally what’s going on so its hard to see how much this is for you to do, but that would be my question?
Strong and cyclical, Ants and rocks! very smart, when I think about ants, I think about their strength and the fact that they are able to carry large loads on their tiny bodies. Rocks give me an image of sturdiness. I also think about ants and their seasonal existence – which correlates with the word cyclical. good choices. lets see what u are able to conjure up.
What characteristics about rocks and ants that you would consider cynical/strong?
