About Me

Hello, I am Sylvia Marshall.

I grew up in Columbus, GA, but call portions of North Carolina home. I am a double major in History and Anthropology & Sociology, with a minor in Art History at Agnes Scott College. I was strongly influenced by the matriarchs of my family to pursue history through my time listening to stories of their personal stories and anecdotes. I am passionate about forging meaningful dialogues about the history and seek to integrate sociological and anthropological themes into my interpretive works.

I aspire to attend graduate school for public history with a focus on Southern culture and African-American history. I hope to develop skills to engage with audiences from all socio-economic backgrounds and encourage dialogue around history and culture.
