Teaching

Created with Sketch.

My motivation for an academic career has been rooted in my teaching and mentoring experiences. As a learning assistant in the Resource Center for Math and Science at Agnes Scott College, I gleaned immense satisfaction in assisting students to overcome conceptual and technical barriers in chemistry and physics. Through developing problem sets, holding weekly review workshops and one-on-one tutoring sessions, I helped students grasp difficult concepts and enhanced their overall understanding of the materials. As an academic peer advisor, I have counseled a cohort of 20 first-year STEM students each year. I designed and facilitated various workshops on effective communication, time management strategies, and study skills. These experiences confirmed my aptitude and passion as a STEM educator. I aspire to continue teaching and mentoring a diverse group of undergraduate students during my graduate studies and beyond.
