Political Experience

Kristina first began working with Representative Teri Anulewicz as intern her sophomore year. Kristina then returned to the Georgia State Capitol as her Chief of Staff and continues to assist Representative Anulewicz in serving House District 42.

Kristina developed and polished her leadership skills while she managed a team of three aides as Chief of Staff. Additionally, Kristina has strengthened her legislative research skills as well as her organizing tactics as she manages Representative Anulewicz’s calendar.

The summer before her junior year, Kristina went to Washington, DC to serve as Senator Debbie Stabenow’s (D-MI) Press and Communications Intern. Kristina compiled the Senator’s daily press briefings as well as drafted social media posts. The summer was filled with political happenings, including; Justice Kennedy stepping down from the Supreme Court, the 2019 Farm Bill, the Kavanaugh Nomination, and the discovery of immigrant children being separated from their parents at the United States border.

During the Fall of her junior year, Kristina worked to re-elect Democratic State Senator Jen Jordan as the Deputy Campaign Manager. The Jen Jordan campaign won the historically Republican district with more than 13,000 votes.

Kristina was in charge of graphic design as well as social media management.

After falling more in love with both the fragility and powerful potential of Georgia politics, the summer before her senior year, Kristina leapt at the chance to intern for one of her role models, Congresswoman Lucy McBath.

Kristina served as the assistant to the district scheduler and assisted with organizing district wide events such as town halls and the Congressional App Challenge.

The fall of her senior year, Kristina was asked to join the Jill Prouty campaign as the Director of Communications. Jill, a local librarian, was running as a Democrat in a “jungle primary” special election for House District 71 against 3 well-funded Republicans. Kristina designed mail pieces, created and managed all social media, wrote and produced campaign videos, and worked to increase the campaign’s Facebook following by 560%.

Kristina designed the following social media graphics and crafted each post:
