Agnes Scott College

A Four Year Reflection

If you end up at Agnes Scott, I truly believe it is because there is a force in the universe that knows you are meant to be here. It was absolutely not a fluke that I came to Agnes, even if it was a complete surprise to me. I had never been to Georgia before and I didn’t have any family in the South either. Essentially, I knew nothing and no one. My only connection to Agnes Scott was a family friend’s best friend along with several signs from the universe which were telling me that I really needed to visit the campus. At the risk of sounding cliche: I knew Agnes was were I was supposed to be the moment I stepped on campus.

I cannot even imagine who or where I would be without Agnes Scott. The personal and professional growth I have experienced is beyond anything I ever thought possible. Because of the skills I have developed at Agnes Scott, at age 20, I became the youngest Chief of Staff at the Georgia State Capitol. Because of the support and love I received from my Agnes Scott community, I was able to find peace and power in myself which empowered me to be incredibly proud of who I am and who I love.  Because of my work with Residence Life at Agnes Scott, I know how to care and help others with strong, healthy boundaries that help keep myself balanced. Agnes Scott is my foundation for life long success. Agnes Scott has empowered me with knowledge, love, and with a deep understanding that Scotties have a social responsibility to be forces of change in our communities. There’s truly nothing like a Scottie’s confidence. From what I have observed and what I feel in my heart: Scotties know what they want, what they need, and they aren’t afraid to go get it.

I am so excited to be #LeadingEverywhere with my fellow Scotties. The world definitely isn’t ready, but we sure as hell are.
